Safer’s Co-Director and lead consultant, Michael McCarthy, tells the story in his own words…
“We started off conducting Face Fit testing ourselves in the local hospitals but quickly changed our approach to one of enablement. It was a simple case of doing the maths; there are around 7,000 staff members at the local hospitals in Eastbourne and Hastings. Every time a mask changes, they need to be re-Face Fitted. So we estimated that you’d be looking at 21,000 Face Fits to make sure all their staff were safe – and we just couldn’t live with ourselves. Those guys really needed to conduct Face Fit themselves – so that’s the approach we have since taken…”
